You’ll always find yourself facing new challenges through these different game modes: Single Player: Viruses charge at you, wave after wave, with mutations that boost their strength and endurance – but you, too, have access to a growing range of effective defense mechanisms designed to stop them. The game becomes this balance between building the perfect deck to try and increase the chances of being able to pick a powerful card. At first you can barely get through three rounds but steadily that progression improves as you unlock more stuff. Then get back out and try to get further. Players who enjoy roguelite aspects like this should definitely give this game a try. It makes you go “just one more round” to see what new and powerful upgrades you can put in your deck for the next run. There is a simple yet extremely addicting progression loop which drives the game for me. you’ll unlock new upgrades and gain access to more options for customizing your defense according to your own unique style. At each level you unlock new progressions such as more cards, more weapons or perks. You’ll be entertained for plenty of time in your hunt for better upgrades and tactics – and you’ll get some questionable support from a retired killer drone with two feisty personalities. Though learning the game’s simple mechanics is easy, you’ll need to come up with an elaborate strategy if you’re looking to reach high-score territory. After you fail a round the game collects all your points to level you up. You have a single tower and can level up various stats after each round by picking a random card from your deck. This mixes up deck building with TD to create something that feels really unique brings a completely fresh take on the genre to the table. Clockwork Origins has got some decent experience making deep and complex TD games with a twist and if you played any of the Elemental Wars games and enjoyed them then this will feel familiar yet refreshingly different.
